Star Chair Base - 600mm Diameter Manufactured
from Glass filled Nylon this 660mm diameter five star office
chair base is designed for the most rugged conditions.
A steel reinforcing ring is moulded inside the tapered 50mm
diameter orifice to prevent spindle "creep" as well
as giving the base extra strength.
The castors are our Venus 50mm Twin Wheel Executive castors
with a push - in 10mm dia.pin.
An identical base and castors has been tested by the SABS
to eight times more than the required standard. The relevant
report is available on request.
These along with all our products, are made at our factory

| Testing
for deflection, spindle creep and failure. |
 |
 |
The base to be tested is placed
on the test rig supported by levellers inserted into the castor
pivot holes
A steel mandrell made to the same dimensions as a spindle is
inserted in the centre hole and the distance of penetration
measured. The distance from the bottom of the base to the base
of the test rig is measured See pic "A". Hydraulic
pressure is applied and measurements taken at various points
Our bases are tested to a pressure of 2500 kPa which is equal
to 650 kg.
The deflection at this point can be seen in pic "B"
This test when compared to those conducted on "imported
bases" equals and in some cases even surpasses them giving
us confidence that our product is sure to give trouble free
service throughout the life of the chair. |
